News: VNUHCMPress announces Online First Publication for Full-text Journal Articles

Articles accepted for publication will now be available in electronic format prior to the print publication, expediting access to the latest peer-reviewed research.

VNUHCM Press announces the availability of Online First Publication for all journals published by VNUHCM Press. All Online First Articles published by VNUHCM Press are peer-reviewed, accepted, copiedited articles, but un-corrected (uncorrected proofs) by authors (Please read the policy here). All Online First Articles will be labeled with Online First icon and marked as Un-correction proof. When the final articles are available, they will be removed and the final version (Corrected proofs) will replace the Online first article versions.

Online First Publication is a key solution to production lag time which historically has been a major obstacle in publishing scholarly research.

Now all publications in Science and Technology Development Journal receive DOI numbers. VNU-HCM Press will deposit all back publications from 1998 with the DOI numbers for tracking and updating.

VNU-HCM Press has joined hands with Crossref to provide DOI for your published paper. Crossref is an official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Registration Agency of the International DOI Foundation, powered by Publishers International Linking Association Inc. (PILA).

The unique DOI prefix for the journals published in STDJ is 10.32508.

How DOI works?

A unique identifier will be added to a published paper. They are unique worldwide. DOI allows published papers to be identified and accessed with certainty. Once DOIs are allocated, they never change. That means items allocated with a DOI can be easily found in different locations.

How do DOIs help manage published papers?

Anyone looking for any published material using the DOI can be sure they have found the correct material, even though it’s not owned by the respective author or is not in the location where it was expected to be. Other information can be associated with the object through the DOI system, such as a statement of rights ownership, or links to related material, or anything else.

What are the direct benefits of author?

DOI surely adds value to any published paper. It is a globally recognized system. It increases the visibility of the published paper. Author can also add DOI in their resume/CV with the particular publication details.

• First applications launched in 2000

• Currently being assigned by well over 5000 naming authorities e.g. publishers, science data centres, movie studios etc

• Around 100 million DOI names assigned

• Over 1.5 billion DOI resolutions per year

Dear Researchers,

Greetings from Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam (www.vnuhcm.edu.vn), a publisher of journal: Science and Technology Developemt Journal (STDJ) (Sci. Tech. Dev. J.) (1859-0128).

STDJ is a peer-reviewed open access multiple discipline science journal covering from natural science, engineering & technology, humanities, art, laws, economics, earth science, environment, social sciences and health sciences.

All accepted articles are weekly updated as Accepted Articles list in the website, and online published after 2 wks. All articles will be indexed in the Vietnam Citation Index (VCI) after 48hrs and in Google Scholar after 1-2 wks ensuring that they are always state of the art, maximum findability by internet Search Engine algorithms. They will have DOI (Digital Object Identifiers), and permanently archived in database. STDJ plans to index in the Scopus, Web of Science and other databases in the near future.

We are contacting you as you have published before in this area and we invite you to submit research/review articles, short communications, case report, letter to editors for publication in forthcoming issues of STDJ. Please read over the journal's Author Guidelines at http://stdj.scienceandtechnology.com.vn for more information on the journal's policies and the submission process and also Publication Ethics.

We are currently offering an introductory waiver on all article processing charges (until Dec, 2020). After this period ends, we do waive the processing fee in some cases.

All articles will be subjected to double blind peer-review system and the receipt of the manuscripts will be acknowledged through online-submission system. Review process of the submitted articles will be done within 21-30 working days after the date of submission and the accepted articles will be published in the upcoming issue. Preference will be given to the early and noteworthy submissions.

Call for: Call for Editorial Members

According to the charter of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh city, the Member term for all journals belong to Science and Technology Development Journal is for 3 years, with the possibility of reappointment to one additional term. Depending on your speciality, you can apply to become a journal or some journals.

Basic Requirements

1. The applicant must hold PhD (doctoral) degree, or be Professor of accredited academic institution;

2. The applicant must have good experience in his/ her specific research field;

3. The research field of the applicant must conform to the scope of our journal.

Professional Requirements

Possess a very strong command of the English language, including verbal and written fluency;
Provide a current electronic resume or curriculum vitae;
Provide as areas of expertise/specialty a listing of classifications and sub-classifications for each classification. An additional, optional submission of the applicant’s publications and presentations for the past 10 years relevant to his/her indicated areas of expertise/specialty accompanying the required classification listing will greatly increase the likelihood of being selected as a reviewer;

Editorial Requirements

Agree to return manuscripts in a timely manner;
Agree to review the first revision of a manuscript for which he/she provided the initial review;
Agree to be released as a reviewer after two refusals to review, two failures to review, or three late reviews;
Agree to be rated as a reviewer this will reflect future selection to review.
